Whether you are 6 weeks post-natal, 6 months post-natal or 6 years post-natal, this 6 week Pilates programme is for you. Take a weekly 30 minute physio led Pilates class in the comfort of your own home, in your own time to re-establish core and glut strength, mobility and stability in your post-natal recovery.
The post-natal phase can be an uncertain time. Uncertainty as to what you should or shouldn’t be doing, what the day is going to look like with a newborn baby and how your body may feel on that day. These classes are designed to guide you and instil confidence with your post-natal recovery whilst building strength, mobility and stability into your everyday activities as a new mum. As a pelvic health physiotherapist, I incorporate breathwork and pelvic positioning to your classes to allow mobility and engagement of the pelvic floor and core which is so important after the marathon of changes your body has been through.
This programme is suitable for all Pilates abilities and modes of delivery.
**You should be at least 6 weeks post-natal when starting this programme. A pelvic health physiotherapy post-natal check is advised prior to returning to exercise to address any urinary, bowel or pelvic organ prolapse symptoms, check the core and pelvic floor after your delivery and guide your return to exercise to prevent future pelvic floor dysfunction. See pelvichealthwest.ie if you wish to book your post-natal check.**
